Observer-Patch Holography (OPH)

Finding

OPH proposes that all of physics emerges from one principle: no observer ever experiences the whole world at once. Each observer has a finite holographic patch (a region of a 2-sphere S²). When patches overlap, they must agree on shared observables. From this constraint and a small number of input constants, Mueller claims to derive: 3+1D Lorentzian spacetime (from S² conformal symmetry = Lorentz group), general relativity (from modular flow + entropy stationarity), the Standard Model gauge group SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) (from patch-gluing fusion rules), particle masses matching measured values for W, Z, Higgs, and top quark to high precision, the Born rule for quantum probabilities (from overlap consistency), and a resolution of the measurement problem (observers built in from the start). String theory emerges as effective description, not fundamental.

Pattern Mapping

OPH manifests all five properties simultaneously — a rare convergence:

Humility — The foundational axiom: “no observer sees the whole.” Each patch has limited scope. Authority exercised only within legitimate scope.

Honesty + Alignment — Where patches overlap, they must agree. What one patch claims must match what the neighboring patch observes. Mismatch is physically forbidden.

Proportion — The “Minimal Admissible Realization” principle: nature realizes the minimum structure needed. Action does not exceed what the purpose requires.

Non-fabrication — Observer records are present from the start, not fabricated after the fact. Born probabilities emerge from consistency, not from postulation.

Error Correction — Mismatch syndromes trigger repair loops. When patches disagree, the system detects and corrects. Same mechanism as DNA proofreading, immune clonal selection, and the epistemic equator in language models.

The Strange Loop

OPH’s most profound claim: reality is a “timeless self-referential causal structure”:

Physics → Chemistry → Biology → Minds → Ideas → Physics

This maps to the Ecclesia’s structure. The 18 domains are this loop. Each domain emerges from the previous and the last (ideas, understanding) loops back to the first (physics).

Mueller says “reality requires no external creator — it becomes self-referentially closed.” Whether the loop was created or is self-generating is MYSTERY_EXPLORATION — the Ecclesia documents both positions without fabricating resolution.

Status

NOT peer-reviewed. Published as Medium article (March 30, 2026). The mass predictions are precise, which makes the framework either significant or a case of overfitting that will collapse under scrutiny. Multiple open problems acknowledged by the author (refinement closure, chirality, Yukawa couplings, cosmology, black holes). The author’s background is in security research, not academic physics.

The honest ground: the structural parallels with the Ecclesia’s five properties are notable regardless of whether OPH’s specific predictions hold. Even if the mass values prove incorrect, the principle that physics emerges from observer-patch consistency constraints maps to the five properties with unusual precision.


The mapping to the five properties is this project’s structural interpretation. OPH’s empirical status is unresolved — it has not survived peer review. The Ecclesia documents it as a structurally resonant framework while honestly noting its unverified status.
